The success of the downtown historic district affects the business economy throughout our city. We support the ongoing effort to preserve, restore and revitalize downtown Claremore. Most importantly, because of our generous district partners and community supporters, we are able to offer you…

• Architecture and design assistance

Due to Main Street’s relationship with the Oklahoma Main Street Center, we are able to offer those in our district free architecture and design assistance from the state architect. There’s a 6-8 week turn-around period. Fill out the Design Assistance Request and return to the Main Street Director.
Open to anyone in the Main Street Boundaries.

• Marketing and promotional assistance

Main Street can also offer marketing and promotional assistance through the Main Street office and through a partnership with Northeast Tech’s small business development team. Further, we often have lower-cost advertising opportunities offered exclusively to our downtown businesses.
Open to anyone in the Main Street Boundaries, however, some advertising opportunities are exclusively for partners.

• Educational and training opportunities

Main Street hosts educational and training opportunities to help small businesses grow or to learn about changes to downtown Claremore. We partner with the Oklahoma Main Street Center, the Oklahoma State Historic Preservation Office, Northeast Tech and others to host these.
Open to anyone in the Main Street Boundaries with exclusive opportunities just for partners.

• Improvement grants

Claremore Main Street current offers two improvement grants — a $1,000 matching facade grants and a $75 matching beautification grant — to provide a financial incentive for property owners to improve the exterior of their buildings while retaining the historic character of the district.
Facade Grant Program We offer five different grant opportunities within this program. Grants include Awning, Window & Door, Lighting & Signage, Paint and Storefront. Recipients will see their dollars doubled with this matching grant. Applications are due at the end of each quarter.

• Publicity for downtown

One of our roles at Claremore Main Street is to showcase the wonderful things going on in the core of our community. Each mention in the newspaper or on local TV news (50 or so times annually), each social media post and each event we host shines more light on downtown Claremore. This translated to more “feet on the streets” and increased sales tax revenue. Between 2013-2016, sales tax revenue in downtown Claremore increased by 60 percent!

• Increased property values

Since 2002, improvements made in downtown Claremore have increased property values in downtown, in surrounding districts and throughout the community. Property values are continuingg to rise! Main Street also helps coordinate downtown art displays and volunteers regularly clean up the district to enhance the visual appeal.
Open to all Claremore property owners.

 • Website and social media presence

All downtown retail and dining establishments have a presence on our website within one month of opening, including a photo, description, hours, contact information and social media accounts. Partners can also include individual business events on the Main Street Calendar page. The Main Street social media accounts promote downtown on a whole regularly.
Open to anyone in the Main Street Boundaries with the calendar perk exclusively for partners.

Coordinated promotional activities

Whether it’s hosting a bimonthly Cash Mob, coordinating a promotional/retail event or sponsoring a co-op advertisement or vendor rentals, Claremore Main Street helps partners increase their promotions to get more people walking through their doors.
Majority of the activities are exclusively for partners.
